The Viking Golf and Country Club lies on the east edge of town with open grain fields bordering it to the south and the east. The town's sports grounds are located next door and a R.V. park is nearby.

The course's enjoyable 9 hole layout is friendly to low handicappers and beginners. Fairways lie on rolling land and play wide open. Water is in play on about half of the holes.

A small elevated green on the dogleg 7th hole offers Viking's biggest challenge. The green's small, sloping surface can be difficult to find purchase on and many golfers require three shots before they begin putting.

The course is open from May to October and hosts many tournaments annually including the Annual Viking Celebrity Golf tournament.
